Warby Parker Frames to Frame the Fall
Sara has ordered glasses online before, and it always makes her a bit nervous. On the previous site where she bought glasses, you could try them on via a picture you uploaded. However, you don't exactly know what they'll look like before you already pay for them. Consequently, Sara is the proud owner of two pairs of glasses that look ridiculously bad on her. Returning them seemed pointless, though, because they were cheap and she'd only get store credit. Which is what makes Warby Parker so nice.
Warby Parker, if you don't know, is a primarily online retailer of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. You can browse all their frames online and the best part is, they let you order up to five frames to your home for free.
Better yet, you can try on your five free frames and post them to social media with the hashtag #WarbyHomeTryOn and they'll have their expert team comment on which pair of frames flatters you best!
Recently, we put Warby Parker's to the test. We each ordered five pairs to try on. We tried to get ten different pairs so we could try each other's on, but Sara chose frames all strikingly similar to each other - whiskey tortoise to be exact - and to the glasses she already owns (the ones that look good on her, to be clear). Hey, she knows what she likes. But since this was about trying new styles, Cazey picked some frames for her and himself that were out of both their comfort zones.
This was also a great time to be browsing frames because, as we learned, Warby Parker recently launched its #FallSyllabus campaign. They have some frames meant to frame the fall foliage and match with all your other layers!

As you can see, we liked most of the glasses. Okay, we liked them all. Why can't we be made of money?
Sara was happy to find the glasses she considered "out of her comfort zone" were not as dramatic as they looked online. The Percey frames were not as ridiculously red or round as expected and turned out to be one of her favorite pairs. She even has a red infinity scarf that would look perfect with them.
Cazey's favorite pair was the eastern bluebird fade Wilkie, probably just because of that name. When he was a kid, he used to love reading the names of paint at Home Depot. (His childhood bedroom is painted meadow's light.) And so he would love to tell friends and acquaintances his spectacles are not brown and blue; they are, in fact, eastern bluebird fade, duh.
Sara's holding off on getting the Percey frames until she goes to the eye doctor since she hasn't been since Obama took office. Meanwhile, Cazey's put the eastern bluebird fades on his Christmas list (hint, hint, Mom and Dad - the link to them is included here again, just one more time).
